SmartConvert Chat Exporter ("the Extension") is a browser extension that helps you export and save your ChatGPT conversations. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension processes, how the data is used, and what information may be transmitted when you use certain features.

The Extension processes the following types of data.

• Conversation data is used to provide the export functionality and generate the files you explicitly request.
• Extension settings are used to remember your preferences and provide the Extension's features.
• Anonymous usage statistics are used to understand feature usage, identify potential issues, improve performance, and improve the overall user experience.
• Information voluntarily submitted through the feedback feature is used to process your feedback and respond to you when necessary.

If you voluntarily submit feedback through the Extension's feedback form, the following information may be sent to our support system:

• Feedback type, such as Bug, Feature Request, or Other
• Email address, if you choose to provide one
• Feedback content that you enter

The feedback information is used to review your feedback, investigate reported problems, improve the Extension, and respond to you when necessary.

Your ChatGPT conversation content and conversation titles are not intentionally included in feedback submissions.

Providing an email address is optional.

The Extension may send anonymous usage statistics to improve the product.

These statistics do not intentionally contain your ChatGPT conversation content or conversation titles, and are not used to intentionally identify individual users.

• ChatGPT conversation data is processed locally in your browser.
• Conversation data may be temporarily cached in chrome.storage.local for the purpose of displaying the export interface.
• Export files are generated on your device and saved using your browser's download functionality.
• We do not store your ChatGPT conversation content or conversation titles on our servers as part of the normal export process.
• Information voluntarily submitted through the feedback feature and anonymous usage statistics may be transmitted to our servers as described in this Privacy Policy.

We take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through the Extension's optional feedback feature and product usage functionality.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

• The Extension does not track your general web browsing activity.
• The Extension only accesses ChatGPT pages covered by its permissions and uses the information required to provide its export functionality.
• The Extension does not use cookies for tracking purposes.

• PDF export uses the browser's built-in print engine through window.print().
• The PDF is generated locally on your device.
• Your ChatGPT conversation content is not sent to our servers for PDF generation.
• The Extension does not use a third-party PDF generation service to process your conversation content.

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — To access the current ChatGPT page and read conversation data when you use the Extension.
• downloads — To create and save exported files to your computer.
• storage — To store Extension settings and temporarily cache conversation data.
• scripting — To run scripts required to extract conversation data from ChatGPT pages.

• ChatGPT conversation data is not stored on our servers as part of the normal export process.
• Conversation data temporarily cached by the Extension is stored locally in your browser.
• Feedback information and anonymous usage statistics transmitted to our servers may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to process feedback, provide support, analyze product usage, and improve the Extension.

• The Extension may use external services to receive voluntarily submitted feedback and process anonymous usage statistics.
• These services may process the information necessary to provide those functions.
• ChatGPT conversation content and conversation titles are not intentionally transmitted to these services as part of the normal export process.

• SmartConvert Chat Exporter is not specifically directed at children.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Extension.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Extension, its features, or applicable requirements.

Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
