Image Cropper & Resizer — Crop and Resize Images Online Free
Need to cut a photo down to its best part, or shrink it to exact dimensions for a website, avatar or marketplace listing? This free image cropper and resizer does both jobs in one place: upload a JPG, PNG or WebP file, frame the perfect crop, dial in precise pixel dimensions, and download the finished image — all without creating an account or sending your files anywhere.
Everything runs inside your own browser using the built-in canvas engine. There is no upload queue, no waiting room and no server that ever sees your pictures, which also means the tool keeps working at full speed no matter how many images you process.
How to Crop and Resize an Image
- Upload image — drag a JPG, PNG or WebP file into the upload area, click to browse, or paste an image straight from your clipboard.
- Adjust crop — drag on the preview to draw a crop box, drag inside it to reposition, and drag its corners or edges to fine-tune. Leave the full image selected to skip cropping.
- Set dimensions — enter the exact output width and height in the Resize panel. Aspect lock is on by default so proportions stay correct; the live output readout always shows the final pixel size.
- Choose output format — keep the original format or convert to JPG, PNG or WebP, with an adjustable quality slider for JPG and WebP.
- Download — click Download Image. The file is saved as
yourname-cropped.jpg(or.png/.webp), ready to use.
Crop Images to a Specific Aspect Ratio
Different platforms demand different shapes: square avatars, widescreen banners, classic photo prints. The crop tool offers one-click presets — Free, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9 — plus a Custom mode where you type any width-to-height ratio of your own. Once a ratio is active, the crop box keeps that shape while you resize it, and a rule-of-thirds grid helps you compose a balanced framing.
Resize Images to Exact Dimensions
Marketplaces, ad platforms and content systems often require precise pixel sizes like 1200 × 800 or 1080 × 1080. Type the numbers you need: with the aspect lock on, changing the width recalculates the height automatically (and vice versa), so nothing ever stretches accidentally. Turn the lock off only when you intentionally want new proportions. The export is rendered at exactly the dimensions shown — the on-screen preview size never affects output quality.
Supported Image Formats
The tool handles the three formats that cover virtually every everyday image: JPG for photos and maximum compatibility, PNG for lossless quality and transparency, and WebP for the smallest modern files. Converting between them is built in, so a cropped PNG screenshot can be saved as a lightweight WebP in the same step. Note that JPG cannot store transparency — if your source has transparent areas and you export JPG, they are filled with a clean white background and the page tells you so upfront.
Privacy
Your image is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers. Cropping, resizing and conversion happen on your device via the HTML canvas; closing the tab leaves nothing behind. If you need to change formats without editing dimensions, try the Image Converter, and to shrink file sizes without touching dimensions, try the Image Compressor. To inspect hidden EXIF or GPS data — or strip it before sharing — try the Image Metadata Viewer & Remover.
